She is the Central Region Diversity Manager with The Boeing Company. Teketa Harding remains as Treasurer. She is the Senior Vice President of Community Development for Capitol Federal Savings.

Outgoing Board President Carolyn McGinn will serve as Past President. McGinn said each new officer brings the Board a wealth of information, knowledge, and experience. She said Cole has demonstrated exceptional leadership, organizational and communication skills.

“Carol will continue to move the museum forward, ” McGinn said.

“I look forward to serving as the Present of The Kansas African American Museum and working with the Board of Directors and staff to take the organization to new heights,” Cole said.

As The Kansas African American Museum is dedicated to the identification, acquisition, research, presentation and preservation of visual arts forms and programs that are reflective of African American life and culture will serve as an educational tourist attraction in Kansas.

The museum is embarking on a capital campaign to build a new facility along the banks of the Arkansas River downtown. The planned facility, designed by Samuel Frey of Schaffer, Cox, Johnson, and Frey, will showcase the rich heritage of African-Americans who have roots and ties in Kansas.
