A college basketball wager between City of Wichita and Fairfax County (Va.) officials will be honored today. Elected officials of both governments agreed to wage on the March 24 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 game between Wichita State University and George Mason, which George Mason won.
City of Wichita officials wagered Kansas steaks, donated by Walnut Valley Packing of El Dorado. City Council member Carl Brewer secured the steaks from Walnut Valley Packing owners Dave Bowman and Bruce Carlselowey. The owners can be reached at (316) 321-3595.
Fairfax County officials wagered a case of Virginia wine, courtesy of Gerald Connolly, chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
Council member Carl Brewer is scheduled to pick up the Kansas steaks at about 1:45 today at Walnut Valley Packing in El Dorado.
