"Delta has successfully served our community for years, and I hope it continues doing so. I recognize the FAA has yet to resolve the recent disagreement between the City and Delta. The City stands firm in its position that providing operating revenue guarantees to AirTran is within its right and serves the community's best interest.

"The City’s goals are lower airfares and more destinations. I’m optimistic that Delta and other airlines will see the market potential here and help us meet those goals. Meantime, Wichita Mid-Continent Airport will continue to serve thousands of passengers daily on more than 100 flights to destinations worldwide. Mid-Continent continues to be served by several airlines including Allegiant, American, America West, Airtran Airways, Continental Express, Delta, Northwest, and United Airlines."
