To Members of the Media:
The City of Wichita is enhancing the way our organization finalizes Kansas Open Record Act (KORA) requests. As in the past, the City Manager’s Office will continue to take the lead for filling these requests. Each KORA request we receive is treated in a professional manner and processed expeditiously, as required by law. To enhance the process, once these requests are filled, the response will be filed in the City Clerk’s Office. This file will be accessible to members of the media and the public. Simply go to the City Clerk’s Office to request viewing this information. Please note that if an organization requests copies of the information in the file, payment must be made in advance. The City receives many requests, not only from members of the media, but also citizens. Each of these requests will be filed in the City Clerk’s Office for viewing during normal business hours.
The City of Wichita values open government. It is our sense of duty to exceed the expectations of the citizens of Wichita. Our organization welcomes being open to the public, as it accurately reflects our image that the City of Wichita truly is a fine organization working for our citizens to make Wichita a great place to live, work, play, visit and raise a family.
Sincerely,

George R. Kolb
City Manager
