Northwest Airlines begins direct flight TODAY!

Today, Mid-Continent Airport gains Northwest Airlines' new non-stop service to its award-winning World Gateway hub at Detroit on January 12, 2005. The new service will be operated with Northwest Airlink partner, Pinnacle Airlines' Canadair Regional Jet, which seats up to 50 passengers. Passengers traveling through Detroit can connect seamlessly via Northwest's three hubs to nearly 900 cities in almost 160 countries on six continents. Detroit is considered as having one of the world's most modern new airport terminals.

"Northwest already offers non-stop service to Minneapolis and Memphis so this addition of Detroit creates an impressive network for Mid-Continent travelers for national travel and international travel," remarked Tom Nolan, Interim Director of Airports.
