Those that golf with a season ticket at the City of Wichita’s golf courses can now pay the same surcharge at all five municipal courses. On Tuesday, July 13, City Council approved setting consistent surcharge pricing at $4 on weekdays and $5 on weekends at all courses including Auburn Hills. Previously, Auburn Hills was at $8 weekdays and $13 weekends. Senior ticket holders will pay $9.50 weekdays.
In an effort to encourage season ticket sales to boost golf rounds, the City of Wichita is sending a "temporary membership" for a trial basis to the citizens of Wichita. Citizens will receive their temporary membership in their August water bill. Simply bring in the insert to any municipal course and play for only $4 on weekdays and $5 on weekends. This offer is good through September 30, 2004.
"Our goal is to make sure the public knows how fantastic golf is here in Wichita," said Doug Kupper, Director of Park & Recreation. "You don’t have to pay country club prices to play great golf in Wichita," he said.
Other Council-approved golf course changes include the elimination of Fridays as a weekend rate at Auburn Hills. Previously, Auburn Hills charged $26 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Now, Friday will be the weekday rate of $21 and only Saturday and Sunday will be a weekend rate of $26. This Friday rate goes into effect starting tomorrow, July 30. Auburn Hills is also allowing fivesomes for weekday play.
Season tickets for City of Wichita golf courses are one of the best golf bargains in the Midwest. Pricing starts as low as $75 for a senior ticket. For information on all season passes, go to www.golfwichita.com for details. Or call any of the five municipal golf courses:
