A study from Kiplinger’s Personal Finance has ranked Wichita the 25th best locale for tax relief. Using a hypothetical family of four with an annual income of $90,000, Kiplinger’s ranked each state’s most populous city according to state and local taxes. The taxes considered for the study included income, property, personal property, sales and gasoline.

"More and more, Wichita is receiving national recognition on our quality of life, the cleanliness of our community and the friendliness of our citizens," said Mayor Carlos Mayans. "We are pleased with the recognition from Kiplinger’s and this study will once again let the nation know what a treasure Wichita really is. Wichita is a first-class city."
