The City of Wichita is seeking additional comments regarding traffic improvements in Northwest Wichita. A Public Information Meeting will be held to provide the latest developments in the Major Investment Study Update being performed by City. The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on August 23 in the Sedgwick County Zoo Auditorium. The following items will be presented to the public:
- Brief summary of problem description and project objectives
- Brief overview of key project activities (up to this date)
- Brief overview of ALL alternatives considered and evaluated
- Summary of "Public Response" from the first public meeting held on April 20, 2000
- Discussion of key alternatives: Traffic analysis for Year 2000 & Year 2030; Effectiveness in relieving traffic congestion; Impacts on the city, community and neighborhood
- Benefit-Cost Analysis of key alternatives
- Recommendation process
Citizens will have an opportunity to review key graphic illustrations of project alternatives, traffic analysis results, benefit-cost analysis results and other pertinent information. City and County staff and consultants will be on hand to answer questions. Individual written responses from the public will also be collected during the session.
