“I am outraged to learn of the U.S. Air Force’s decision to bypass an American company to award the KC-X Tanker contract to a French company that has no experience building tankers,” Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer said. “This decision could cost the Air Capital of the World an estimated 300 to 500 aviation jobs. It also affects the state’s economy, which will lose up to 3,800 jobs and $145 million annually. I’m committed to working with our Congressional delegation to help the Wichita community overcome this inexplicable decision.”
