MINUTES - BOARD OF BIDS AND CONTRACTS*

The Board of Bids and Contracts met with Tim Cain, Administrative Supervisor, representing the Director of Public Works, in the Chair; Rodney Ellenz, Controllers Office, representing the Director of Finance; Kendall Niquette, Budget Analyst, representing the Budget Office; Kelli Glassman, Management Intern, representing the City Manager; and Patsy Ellis, Deputy City Clerk, Secretary; present.

Minutes of the regular meeting dated, September 27, 2004, were read and on motion approved.

Bids were opened October 1, 2004, pursuant to advertisements published on:

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION: Sewers, Paving and Water Mains as per specifications  (Exhibit Attached).

Central Rail Corridor; Heavy Rail, including Paving, Storm Water, Sanitary Sewer (87N0160-01/472-84071 (715235)

	Defer one week

2004 Sanitary Sewer Reconstruction, Phase 12 - (various locations north of MacArthur, between Broadway and Woodlawn.  (468-83905/620418/664538)  Traffic to be maintained during construction using flagpersons and barricades. 
(Districts I,II,III,IV)

	WB Carter Construction - $241,231.00

2004 Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation, Phase F - various locations north of Harry, between Meridian and 143rd Street East.  (468-83867/620417/664537)  Traffic to be maintained during construction using flagpersons and barricades.  (Districts II,III,IV,VI)

	Wildcat Construction - $214,163.20

Water Distribution System to serve Shadow Woods Addition - north of Maple, west of 135th Street West. (448-89792/735218/470888)  Does not affect existing traffic.  (District V)

	Duling Construction - $30,626.00
Water Distribution System to serve Blue Lake Addition - south of 31st Street South, west of West Street.  (448-89988/735217/470887)  Does not affect existing traffic.  
(District IV)

	Duling Construction - $82,015.00

Lateral 1, Main 22 Southwest Interceptor Sewer to serve Blue Lake Addition - south of 31st Street South, west of West Street.  (468-83862/744086/480774)  Does not affect existing traffic.  (District IV) 

	Duling Construction - $187,492.00

The Purchasing Manager recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, subject to check, same being the lowest and best bids within the Engineer's construction estimate.

On motion the Board recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, subject to check, same being the lowest and best bids within the Engineer's construction estimate.


PARK & RECREATION DEPARTMENT/RECREATION DIVISION: Concrete Pathway Improvements.

	Merry Technology Inc. -	$20,500.00 (Group 1/total net bid)
		$11,220.00 (Group 2/total net bid)

The Purchasing Division recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, same being the lowest and best bid.

On motion the Board recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, same being the lowest and best bid.
