Wichita Board of Appeals of Plumbers and Gas Fitters Minutes
Wednesday, February 6th, 2008


Present:   Don Vaughn, Sr., Terry Irwin, Jerry Short, Keith Brewer, Andy Veatch and Leon Breedlove

Absent:  David Lefler

Staff:   Sharon Dickgrafe w/ Law Department, Billie Vines w/ Water Department, Kurt Schroeder, Roger Young, Frank Ritter, Keith Johnson, Lee Grandstaff and Kim Mudd

Guests Present:    Ray Frederick, w/ Frederick Htg & Plbg, and Curt Befort, w/ J-Hawk Plumbing

Chairman, Terry Irwin called the meeting to order.

Jerry Short, seconded by Don Vaughn, moved to accept the January minutes, motion carried 6 - 0.

Sharon Dickgrafe and Kurt Schroeder presented the Continuing Education Guidelines to be adopted.  Don Vaughn, seconded by Keith Brewer, moved to accept the guidelines, motion carried 6 - 0.

Curt Befort, with J-Hawk Plumbing presented his Request for Variance, at 2909 N Oliver, in regards to the use of a 4" PVC sanitary cross with (2) - 2" left and right side inlets.  After a very lengthy discussion, Keith Brewer, seconded by Don Vaughn, moved to approve the Request for Variance, motion carried 5 - 1.

Discussion was held on the International Fuel Gas Code.  Keith Brewer, seconded by Don Vaughn, moved to have a review of the International Fuel Code Book and have staff bring back to the board their recommendation, motion carried 6 -0.

Don Vaughn, seconded by Jerry Short, moved to adjourn the meeting, motion carried 6 - 0.
