MINUTES - BOARD OF BIDS AND CONTRACTS*

The Board of Bids and Contracts met with Pam Plank, representing the Director of Public Works, in the Chair; Rodney Ellenz, Controllers Office, representing the Director of Finance; Kendall Niquette, Budget Analyst, representing the Budget Office; Kelli Glassman, Management Intern, representing the City Manager, Present.  (Tim Cain and Patsy Ellis, Deputy City Clerk, Secretary; were absent).

Minutes of the regular meeting dated, October 18, 2004, were read and on motion approved.

Bids were opened October 22, 2004, pursuant to advertisements published on:

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT/ENGINEERING DIVISION: Sewers, Paving and Water Mains as per specifications  (Exhibit Attached).

Lateral 37, Main 1 Cowskin Interceptor Sewer to serve Oak Cliff Estates Addition, (north of Maple, west of Maize) (468-83824/744065/480753) Does not affect existing traffic.  (District V).

	Mies Construction - $29,500.00

Storm Water Sewer #607 to serve Oak Cliff Estates Addition (north of Maple, west of Maize (468-83825/751371/485262)  Does not affect existing traffic.  (District V).

	Mies Construction - $36,678.00 (Negotiated to Engineer's estimate)

Cavit from the north line of Lot 20, Block C, north and northeasterly to the west line of Decker; Decker from the north line of Lot 23, Block D, north to the north line of Cavit; Burton from the west line of Cavit, north to the northwesterly ine of Lot 25, Block C; Sidewalk on one side of Burton, Cavit and Decker to serve Shadow Woods Addition (north of Maple, west of 135th Street West) (472-83722/765907/490020)  Does not affect existing traffic.  (District V).

	Kansas Paving Company - $185,068.50


Rock Road from 21st Street North to 29th Street North, Ph2-landscaping.  (472-83889 (706874)

	Bids rejected.

The Purchasing Manager recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, subject to check, same being the lowest and best bids within the Engineer's construction estimate.

On motion the Board recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, subject to check, same being the lowest and best bids within the Engineer's construction estimate.

WATER & SEWER DEPT./PRODUCTION & PUMPING DIV: Clarifier Replacement Drive Installation.

	Dondlinger & Sons Construction Co., Inc. - $28,730.00 (Group 1/Base bid)

PUBLIC WORKS DEPT./FLEET DIV.: Snow Plow Blades.

	Truck Parts & Equipment - $22,721.00 (Group 1/Base bid)

PUBLIC WORKS DEPT./STREET MAINTENANCE DIV.: Street Name Signs.

	Vulcan Signs - $5,203.24 (Group 1/Base bid)

PUBIC WORKS DEPT./BUILDING SERVICES DIVISION: Install ADA Compliant Access Ramps. 

	(Refer to Purchasing Manager for award)

WATER & SEWER DEPT/SEWER MAINTENANCE DIV.: 24" Ductile Iron Pipe.

	(Deferred to 11/01/04)

IT DEPARTMENT: Cingular International.  (80 each Rim Blackberry 7280 Devices at no charge with monthly services @ $39.99).

Cingular International - $38,391.00   (As per GSA Contract)

AIRPORT OPERATIONS: Rebuild parts for the Airport Terminal Building Baggage Conveyer #2.  One lump sum of $12,277.05 for rebuild parts for Baggage Conveyer #1.

	Glidepath LLC - $12,277.05 (Ordinance No. 35-856 Section 2.(b))

The Purchasing Division recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, same being the lowest and best bid.

On motion the Board recommended that the contracts be awarded as outlined above, same being the lowest and best bid.
