MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF BOARD OF ELECTRICAL APPEALS April 26, 2005 - 3:00 p.m. OFFICE OF CENTRAL INSPECTION CITY HALL, 455 NORTH MAIN OCI CONFERENCE ROOM, 7th FLOOR Re: Review of the 2005 National Electrical Code (NEC). This Special Meeting was scheduled in order to continue review of the 2005 NEC for possible recommended adoption by City Council in the future. The Board also reviews the 2005 NEC at their regularly scheduled Board meetings when time allows, however this is not always possible due to time restraints. Present at the special meeting were Board members Roy Meinhardt, Larry Hackney, Dale Johnson, Harold Ragland, John Whittit and Secretary Tom Kerschen. Also present was Steve Schauner electrical inspector. Board members Larry Clark and Jerry Addington were absent. Chairman Roy Meinhardt called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm The minutes of the April 12, 2005 regular monthly meeting were read. Board member Whittit made a motion the minutes be approved as written, it was seconded by Board member Ragland and approved. Major changes of chapters 1 and 2 of the 2005 NEC were reviewed and discussed. Doug Moshier, attorney for the City of Wichita, attended the meeting at the request of Kurt Schroeder and Tom Kerschen to advise the board on upcoming legal issues. A motion was made for the Board to go into executive session for 20 minutes by Board member Whittit and seconded by Board member Ragland and approved. The time was 4:12pm. At 4:32 to Board went back to regular session and made motion to go back into executive session for an additional 20 minutes. At 4:52 the Board went back to regular session and continued to review chapter 2 of the 2005 NEC. There was discussion on the timetable of reviewing the 2005 NEC, Board member Whittit made motion for a special meeting on May 24th, 2005 and seconded by Board member Ragland and was approved. With no other business to conduct, Board member Whittit made a motion to adjourn. Board member Ragland seconded the motion and the meeting adjourned at 5:15 PM.
