The regular meeting of the Historic Preservation Board was held Monday, April 12th, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. in the Metropolitan Area Planning Department's Conference Room, City Hall – Tenth Floor, 455 N. Main, Wichita, Kansas. ITEM NO. 1 ROLL CALL The meeting was called to order and board members stated their names. MAJOR: (HPC2004-00049) Bitting Historic District APPLICANT: Cynthia Jacobson FOR: 1207 Bitting Ave Applicant proposes to remodel garage; increase roof pitch to 8/12, increase wall height to 8.5", side with tri-lap cedar siding – all to more closely match the house. Motion #3: Motion was made by Platt, seconded by Deer, to approve the project as presented. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). ITEM NO. 8 MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS 1. HPC2004-00037 : application for State Listing of 815 W Douglas St. Motion #4: Motion was made by Willenberg, seconded by Deer, to support the nomination of 809-811-815 W Douglas as its own Historic District. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). 2. HPC2004-00038 : application for State Listing of 1004 N Market St. Motion #5: Motion was made by Willenberg, seconded by Steiner, to support the nomination of 1004 N Market St. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). 3. Update on WaterWalk project. 4. The Historic Preservation Board met with City Archaeologist, Tricia Waggoner, and other archaeologists for a guided tour of the HackBerry Site after adjourning the regular HPB meeting.
