MINUTES OF MEETING OF BOARD OF ELECTRICAL APPEALS April 10, 2007 - 3:00 p.m. OFFICE OF CENTRAL INSPECTION CITY HALL, 455 NORTH MAIN OCI CONFERENCE ROOM, 7th FLOOR Vice-Chairman Harold Ragland called the meeting to order at 3:03 pm, with Board members John Whittit, Dave Urban, Shane Chapman, Dale Johnson and Secretary Tom Kerschen present. Board members Roy Meinhardt and Jerry Addington were absent. Also present was Steve Schauner and Chris Nordick electrical inspectors. The minutes of the March 13, 2007 meeting were read. Board member Whittit made a motion the minutes be approved as written, it was seconded by Board member Urban and approved. The recent examination results from Thomson Prometric for electrical examinations administered by their office for City of Wichita approved applicants were presented to the Board. Kendrek Electric pulled a permit for electrical work at 2107 S Green, but Secretary Kerschen has an invoice for Seaburn Electric and HVAC to Wichita Housing and Community Services for said electrical work. Vice-Chairman Ragland asked Mr. Bryant if he had anything to add or if he wished to explain the situation and Mr. Bryant said he did pull the permit for Seaburn Electric and HVAC not realizing that was wrong. Mr. Bryant said he has since worked with Wichita Housing and Community Services and has corrected the billing and responsibility for the work to reflect Kendrek Electric. He also explained he had an electrical inspection at 2107 S Green and is in the process of fixing the corrections. Mr. Bryant told the Board he was sorry for the problems this created and that it would not happen again. The Board excused Mr. Bryant and told him Secretary Kerschen would notify him in writing of the Boards decision. The Board continued the discussion of the violation of City ordinance Title 19 Section 19.08.120 and asked Mr. Schauner about the corrections needed. Mr. Schauner explained the service riser material is not adequate to support the service drop and there is problems in the grounding of the metal raceway between the meter and panel. Board member Chapman made a motion to place Kendrek Electric on probation for one year for violating Title 19 Section 19.08.120 and should he violate Section 19.08.120 within the probation period his license could be suspended or revoked. The motion was seconded by Board member Johnson and unanimously approved. With no other business to conduct, Board member Whittit made a motion to adjourn.
