MINUTES OF MEETING OF BOARD OF ELECTRICAL APPEALS October 10, 2006 - 3:00 p.m. OFFICE OF CENTRAL INSPECTION CITY HALL, 455 NORTH MAIN OCI CONFERENCE ROOM, 7th FLOOR Chairman Roy Meinhardt called the meeting to order at 3:01 pm, with Board members Dale Johnson, John Whittit, Harold Ragland, Dave Urban, Shane Chapman and Secretary Tom Kerschen present. Board member Jerry Addington was absent. The minutes of the September 12, 2006 meeting were read. Board member Whittit made a motion the minutes be approved as written, it was seconded by Board member Ragland and approved. The recent examination results from Thomson Prometric for electrical examinations administered by their office for City of Wichita approved applicants were presented to the Board. Chairman Meinhardt asked if there was any new business to discuss that was not on the agenda. Secretary Kerschen handed out a flyer/application for an electrical continuing education class to the presented by the Wichita Area Technical College and City of Wichita Central Inspection. This is a 6-hour class given over 2 evenings on November 13th and 14th, 2006. The class is over inspection type codes and NEC requirements and is presented at no cost to the applicants. Chairman Meinhardt asked how the new ceiling rough and ceiling final inspections where working on commercial jobs. Secretary Kerschen explained that it has shown a number of problems but he felt the inspections are needed as multiple corrections have been found. There was discussion on time delays and added expenses for the contractor. Secretary Kerschen said that Central Inspection was trying to work with contractors to minimize the delays. With no other business to conduct, Board member Ragland made a motion to adjourn. Board member Urban seconded the motion and the meeting adjourned. The time was 4:00 pm.
