MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF APPEALS OF REFRIGERATION, AIR CONDITIONING, WARM AIR HEATING AND BOILERS JULY 27, 2007 MEMBERS PRESENT: Frank Rash, Gary Highfill, David Hughes, John Shepherd, Ray Frederick, Carl Hanna, and Randy Holm STAFF PRESENT: Ron Shores, Kim Mudd and Dan Leidy Gary Highfill, second by Frank Rash moved to accept the May and June minutes, motion carried 7 - 0. Discussion was held on the request for the past and present Board Members to receive credit for their time as members to be credited toward their Continuing Education Credits. Ray Frederick, seconded by Frank Rash to table this topic until the August meeting, motion carried 7 - 0. A lengthy discussion was held on various code topics. Various topics were mechanical contractors installing gas piping for hydronic heating. At 9:30 at break in the agenda to accept a conference call in regards to vertical venting. Discussion was held after the call. No action taken. Discussion resumed on the hydronic heating. Gary Highfill, second by John Shepherd to table this topic until the August meeting, motion carried 7 - 0. Dan Leidy arrived. Over -> -> Discussion was held on Chapter 5 of the UPC. Discussion became very lengthy, heated and lead into the adoption of codes. No action taken. Gary Highfill, second by Frank Rash, moved to have the Mechanical Board make a recommendation to the Plumbing Board in regards to Chapter 5. Frank Rash, second by John Shepherd to have Gary Highfill speak to the Plumbing Board, motion carried 7 - 0. Discussion turned to code adoption and was rather heated and out of control.
