1. Who are the Wichita Ambassadors and how can they be contacted?

   Susan Howell, Autumn Montgomery, Raymond Shellman, and Sidney Tsimonjela are the Wichita Ambassadors. The Ambassador program is an initiative of the City of Wichita to provide downtown parking enforcement, hospitality, tourism and public safety services to Wichitans and visitors. 2. What is a warning ticket?

   With certain types of violations, a warning ticket is issued instead of of a citation. Usually these are issued for meter violations and parking in 1-hour and 2-hour restricted zones. Each vehicle is permitted one warning every 180 days. After that, if a parking violation is committed a citation is issued to the violator.

3. This is my first citation, why didn't I receive a warning ticket?

   Warning tickets aren't issued for every type of parking violation. Violations such as parking in front of a fire hydrant or parking in a truck loading zone are examples of violations for which warning tickets aren't issued.

4. What days and hours are the parking meters enforced?

   The parking meters located on city streets and at City Hall are enforced from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Meters and restricted parking areas around Century II and the Library are enforced seven days a week until 11 PM with the exception of holidays.

5. I received a parking ticket but I was feeding the meter all day. Why did I get it?

   The answer is simple. It is against the law to feed the meter. According to City Code Ordinance 11.68.090 it is illegal to feed or plug a meter all day and stay parked at the meter longer than is legally allowed.
