How to Read Your Water Bill

  1. Period of service
    The period of service represented by this bill.

  2. Size of the meter
    Size of the meter that serves you.

  3. Average Winter Consumption (AWC)
    Your consumption average for the months of December, January, February and March. The first block rate covers changes up to 110% of the average winter consumption. Block #2 charges for water consumption between 111% and 310% and block #3 charges for water and consumption about 310% of your AWC.

  4. Sewer Charges
    Sewer charges include both a base charge and consumption charges based on the water you use.

  5. Amount Currently Due
    Your bill is due within 25 days. After 25 days your bill becomes past due and interest will be charged on the past due balance at a rate of 1 1/2% per month.

  6. Present Reading
    The present reading shows the latest readout on your water meter (your meter is read each month).

  7. Previous Reading
    The previous reading shows last month's readout. The Previous Reading subtracted from the Present Reading shows the amount of water you used (each unit = 750 gallons).

  8. Monthly Base Water Charge
    A minimum charge based on the size of the meter that serves you.

  9. Water Consumption Charge
    Based on the actual amount of water you used during the service period.
