The Maintenance division includes two supervisors and sixteen employees represented by the Union. The division is equipment/facility intensive and consequently has an extensive Maintenance Plan to guide its operations.
Major components of the Maintenance Plan are:
- Environmental compliance
- Preventive maintenance, general repairs, and unit rebuild
- Tires and service lane
- Warranty repair
- Parts, storeroom and inventory handling
- Handtool procedures
- Daily Worksheet and Work Order procedures
- Building and grounds procedures
- Accessible service maintenance procedures
Main Garage and Administration Offices
The main garage and administration offices are located at 777 E. Waterman. The facility was built in 1999 and has six work bays and one service lane/wash bay. Vehicles are parked inside. All WT operations have moved from the old facility. The garage is only set up to work on diesel buses. Vans are worked on at the City's Central Maintenance Facility.
Transit Center
The Transit Center is located at 214 S. Topeka, and is the transfer site for all WT's routes. The Transit Center has 24 parking bays for buses and/or vans. The building itself has a large waiting area for passengers, public facilities, an information booth, and some office space for Access to Jobs staff. The Transit Center was built in 1993.
