This is your opportunity to get involved in planning for the future of parks, recreation, and open space in the Wichita community. The following is a quick list of ways you can help shape the future.
| Dream in Green Speaker Series |
The last Dream in Green Speaker Series workshop will be held Saturday, October 27, 2007. Visit the PROS homepage for more information.

The online survey for the PROS Plan has been completed. We hope to have the results up in late 2007. Please check back soon for more information.
The focus groups are small groups of community members that are associated with a specific element or aspect of the community. Staff use the focus group sessions to discover key issues, priorities, and perceived community needs. The community focus groups included sessions for the following community sectors: Business Community, Conservation Advocates and User Organizations, Sedgwick County Municipalities, Maintenance Staff, Other Recreation Providers, Accessibility for All, Development Community and Healthcare and Wellness
Various Wichita community stakeholders were interviewed to discover how to strengthen partnerships and how to avoid duplication of services while increasing quality. The interviews included elected officials, business leaders, and others.
| Community Outreach Meetings |
Citizens had the opportunity at each Community Outreach meeting to discuss park, recreation, and open space needs with community leaders and staff in a facilitated discussion. The meetings were held for the following community groups below:
District I - Council Member Lavonta Williams
District II - Council Member Sue Schlapp
District III - Council Member Jim Skelton
District IV - Council Member Paul Gray
District V - Council Member Jeff Longwell
District VI - Council Member Sharon Fearey
