The Honorable Judge Jennifer Lind-Spahn

Judge Lind-Spahn graduated from Emporia State University in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree and from Washburn Law School in 1983. She graduated from both universities with honors and was invited to join Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society as a law student. Judge Lind-Spahn was an intern at the Department of Revenue, Alcohol Beverage Control Division and worked under the supervision of an Assistant Attorney General prosecuting alcohol violations during law school.

For thirteen years, Judge Lind-Spahn was an Assistant District Attorney for the 18th Judicial District. She was the Chief Attorney in charge of the Juvenile Department of the District Attorney's Office. Judge Lind-Spahn handled all the administrative duties, tried cases from misdemeanor theft to 1st degree murder as well as cases involving abused and neglected children. She served on many committees, advisory boards, and task forces, provided training for local law enforcement officers, court workers, social workers, hospital child protection team members, school personnel, placement providers and treatment providers.

Judge Lind-Spahn was a speaker at many conferences such as: the Kansas County and District Attorney's Fall Conference; 11th Governor's Conference for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect; Sedgwick County Association of Neonatal Nurses Conference; 55th Annual Kansas State Fire School on Arson Investigations; The Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas Summer Conference on Current Trends Relating to Juvenile Law; and the Wichita Bar Association's Family Law Seminar on Child Custody and Abuse Issues. Prior to attending law school, Judge Lind-Spahn was a teacher in Wichita, teaching math and honors math. She has also been an adjunct professor at Butler County Community College.

Judge Lind-Spahn began her judgeship for the Municipal Court in December of 1999. Judge Lind-Spahn is looking forward to all the challenges presented by the high volume of cases the Court handles.
