The Historic Loan Program provides financial assistance for the preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation of historically and architecturally significant structures located within the City of Wichita. To qualify:

The property must be designated and listed as a landmark by the local, state, or national historic register, or be a contributing structure in a residential district or be within the 1919 city limits. Call the Metropolitan Area Planning Department at 268-4421 for more information. Be sure to have the property's exact address available.

The loan applicant must be the owner of the property or purchasing on a valid land sale contract. Fill out the Revolving Loan Program for Historic Properties & Financial Application.

Historic Loans can be made to private individuals and/or entities, including profit and non-profit organizations to acquire for the purpose of rehabilitation.

Historic Loans to for-profit businesses or agencies for rehabilitation of commercial or industrial building can be made. However, rehabilitation is limited only to that required to preserve the historic nature of the property.
