Our People

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is making $764,126 available to Wichita as a part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  The Housing and Community Services Department's Community Investments Division completed work on the Substantial Amendment to the 2008-09 Annual Action Plan, which was required in order for the City to receive the funds.  The City Council approved the Substantial Amendment on June 3 and all documents were submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  As soon as HUD approves the City's plan, work will begin on the sidewalk improvements and we will solicit applications from businesses in target areas for the facade improvements.  Following is a link to the plan!  CDBG-R Substantial Amendment
