Located at 21st St. North and Chautauqua, Station Ten is the headquarters of the Department's Hazardous Materials Response Team. Housed in the station are one engine company, one squad, and the City's Hazardous Materials Response Vehicle and Hazardous Materials Response Team. Relocated and built in 2005, it currently has 15 personnel assigned over three shifts.
On May 18, 2004 the City Council moved to name this station the "Charles Shoots" station after the first African-American hired by the Wichita Fire Department.
