Jeff Longwell grew up in West Wichita, graduated from West High school and attended Wichita State University. His love for politics and belief in serving citizens, especially West Wichitans, started early in 1992.
Jeff served on the Maize School Board for 12 years. In those 12 years he held positions of President, Vice President, Government Relations Representative, and worked on the Journey to Excellence Strategic Planning Team. While on the Board Jeff was instrumental in managing the growth of the district from 3,400 students to more than six thousand.
Jeff was elected to City Council in 2007. Since his service on the Council Jeff has served on several Committees and Boards and played a significant role in developing new public policy for a clean air initiative, adding additional public safety staff, working on several flood control projects, and chairing the Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO).
Jeff currently works at AdAstra Print Communications and has worked in the graphics business for more than twenty-seven years.
Jeff and his wife, Susie, have been married for nearly twenty-nine years and have a daughter, Angela, son- in-law, Scott and twin sons, Ryan and Bryan.
Jeff is active on community Boards such as the Northwest YMCA and the Sunrise Rotary Club. He is active in his church, Saint Francis of Assisi, and enjoys speaking to different neighborhood and community groups.
